The Dandelion, Taraxacum officinale would have once been used by monks. We know this due to the name officinale which is from the word officina for storeroom. The monks used it form medicinal purposes as well as for a food source as the dandelion is completely edible.
The dandelion is also an important plant for wildlife as it’s one of the first flowers in spring, giving vital food to pollinators. so think about the bees before you next decide to remove them from your garden. Why not keep them and allow the beautiful yellow flowers to add some joy to your space.
