Richly layered oil painting inspired by the unsafe but beautiful Deadly nightshade. The muted tones contrast with the sharp, organic, vibrant greens and purples that stand out against the darker background. Glowing amidst the dark, fragmented space, this evokes a sense of resilience and survival.

deadly nightshade, Atropa belladona is incredibly toxic and can be fatal when ingested. Commonly associated with death throughout myth and legend. The name atropa comes from atropos the third of the greek fates it was her job to cut the thread of life bringing it to an end.

    Protected with a satin varnish which gives a light sheen.
