Richly layered oil painting inspired by Victorian floral language, a mixture of Deadly nightshade, Fern, Lavender and Oleander. The bright colours contrast strongly with the dark background giving a sense of resilience and strength.

Richly layered oil painting inspired by Victorian floral language, a mixture of Deadly nightshade, Fern, Lavender and Oleander. The bright colours contrast strongly with the dark background giving a sense of resilience and strength.

The Victorians used flowers as a way to convey messages. Each flower held a different meaning creating its own unique language. This bouquet is my interpretation of this language. A bouquet created to ask someone to keep their secret and never utter a word or else!

Fern - Secrecy

lavender - Distrust

Oleander - Caution

 

  • Original oil painting on cradled wood panel. charcoal, oil pastel, marker pen also used.

    Panel is 24mm deep

    Protected with a satin varnish which gives a light sheen.

    Signed certificate of authenticity attached on the back of the painting.

    This painting is framed using a soft wood tray frame, hand painted using a dark teal eggshell paint.

  • ALL PIECES ARE CAREFULLY PACKAGED AND SHIPPED IN A CARDBOARD BOX.

    I TAKE CARE TO USE RECYCLED PACKAGING WHERE AVAILABLE, I ASK YOU PLEASE RECYCLE WHERE POSSIBLE TOO. 

    DELIVERY TO ENGLAND, SCOTLAND AND WALES IS CURRENTLY FREE. PLEASE ALLOW UP TO 2 WEEKS TO RECEIVE YOUR ARTWORK. I use parcel force and Royal Mail where available.

  • IN THE UNLIKELY EVENT THAT YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH YOUR ARTWORK YOU CAN RETURN IT WITHIN 14 DAYS. IT MUST BE RETURNED IN ITS ORIGINAL PACKAGING . PLEASE NOTE YOU WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF POSTAGE.
